Privacy notice
A plain-language explanation of what this project processes and why.
Last updated July 20, 2026
1. Scope
This notice applies when you use AoEwhathappend, search for a player, open match history, or request an AI analysis. The project mainly processes public game data rather than information you provide through an account.
2. Data we process
- Public AoE4 player identifiers, display names, ratings, match history, civilizations, statistics, and replay telemetry supplied by AoE4World.
- Match IDs, profile IDs, pasted public match URLs, generated reports, report status, model information, and analysis timestamps.
- Your cookie-consent preference, stored locally in your browser.
- Technical request information that hosting and infrastructure providers may log, such as IP address, user agent, request time, route, and response status.
3. How data is used
Data is used to find public players and matches, generate and display match reports, avoid duplicate AI work, troubleshoot failures, protect the service, and improve reliability. It is not sold and is not used for targeted advertising.
4. AI processing
Relevant public match telemetry is sent to Google Gemini to create the narrative analysis. Do not submit private information in a match URL or any future free-text field. AI output may be inaccurate and is stored with the analysed match.
5. Services and data sources
The project uses AoE4World as its public match-data source, Supabase for database and backend functions, Google Gemini for AI generation, and a hosting provider to deliver the website. Those providers may process technical data under their own privacy terms.
6. Cookies and browser storage
The site stores your consent choice in local browser storage. Strictly necessary secure session cookies may be used for core functionality. There are currently no advertising cookies. If optional analytics or marketing tools are introduced, the consent request must be updated before those tools are enabled.
7. Retention
Completed analyses and public source telemetry may be retained until they are no longer needed or are manually removed. Provider security and request logs are retained according to each provider's settings and policies.
8. Your choices
You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer, clear this site's browser storage, or stop using the service. Privacy access or deletion requests require an operator contact method; the project owner should publish a working privacy email before a public production launch.
9. Changes
This notice may change when authentication, analytics, new AI features, or new data sources are added. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
